《TICAD 7 in Yokohama》【“Burkina Faso National Day Commemorative Program 2018” held in Yokohama】

Organized by the Burkina Faso Embassy in Japan and cosponsored by the City of Yokohama, “Burkina Faso National Day Commemorative Program 2018 in Yokohama” ran from December 4 to January 6. Held annually since 2014, this event marked the fifth year in a row that Burkina National Day has been observed in Yokohama.
The venue at JICA Yokohama International Center displayed an exhibition of art and photography of Burkina Faso and featured Burkinabé cuisine on its co-located café lunch menu, to the enjoyment of visitors.
The National Day Commemorative Ceremony, also held at the Center on December 16, was attended by over 100 guests. Following an opening address by H.E. Mr. Pascal Batjobo, Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Japan, speeches were heard from several distinguished guests: Mr. Masahiko Kiya, Ambassador for TICAD from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Katsunori Watanabe, Deputy Mayor of Yokohama; Mr. Ken Matsumoto, Yokohama City Council President; Mr. Hiroshi Kato, Senior Vice President of JICA; and Mr. Hirofumi Sato, President of the Japan-Africa Friendship Yokohama City Council Members' League.
Afterwards, the movie “Investing in Burkina Faso” was screened, and the ceremony’s entertainment, a fashion show of traditional Burkinabé dress and performances of music and dance, excited the entire venue.
